The Muhammad VI Foundation Kenyan branch organized its annual Quran memorization competition bringing together top young reciters from across the country. The event, aimed at promoting excellence in Quranic memorization, was held at Islamiya Madrassa Parkroad in Nairobi.
This year’s competition culminated in an intense semi-final round where the best three competitors were selected to represent Kenya at the international level. The top three winners ranked first, second, and third will participate in the global finals via video conferencing, scheduled to take place later this year in City of Fes, Morocco.
Muhammad VI Foundation Kenyan branch has been holding the Quran competition since 2019 to promote the memorization and understanding of the holy book.
Kenya’s participation in the global competition has yielded remarkable results in recent years. Notably, in 2023, Master Abdurrahman a Kenyan representative earned first position in one of the categories globally.
Organizers and local religious leaders praised the event for its organization and impact on young people. “This competition is not just about recitation; it is about discipline, devotion, and the deep spiritual connection with the Quran,” Prof. Ali Mohammed Salim, the Chairman Kenya Branch.
