Taawun Vocational Training College celebrated a milestone achievement as it held its 6th graduation ceremony, honoring students from marginalized families who were fully sponsored by the Angel Welfare and Education Trust. The event, held in Nairobi was a testament to the transformative power of education and skill development in empowering underserved communities.

Speaking at the ceremony, Taawun Vocational Training College chief advisor Osman Ringo expressed pride in the graduates’ achievements. “Today, we celebrate not just the completion of a course but the beginning of a new chapter in the lives of these young men and women. They have been equipped with skills that will enable them to contribute meaningfully to society and break the cycle of poverty in their families,”he said.

The students graduated in various vocational disciplines, including computer packages, plumbing, electrical installation, tailoring, henna art, and beauty therapy.

In his speech  Sheikh Ahmad Uthman the Imam Landhis Mosque Nairobi said the skills are not only vital for personal development but also serve as a gateway to economic independence and self-reliance for the graduates and their families.

According to Sheikh Ahmad, “It will be disappointing for you graduates to sit home with your certificates when you have been trained in various fields. We want to see you start your businesses and employ the youth and earn a halal living with your own hands,” he noted.

Taawun Vocational Training College is providing fully sponsored  quality vocational education, and has become a lifeline for students from disadvantaged backgrounds. Through the generous sponsorship of the Angel Welfare and Education Trust, the college has been able to offer fully funded training programs, covering tuition, materials, and even stipends for the students.
